Preserving your safety net from premature wear

The most important thing you can do to keep your net from wearing out is to make sure it is not too tight.  The net should be just snug enough to keep your hand away from the propeller.  To test it, strike the net moderately with your hand – it should not get close to the propeller.  Always remember that the REALLY dangerous parts of the propeller are the tips.  If the netting is tight, the lines will wear through where they touch the sticks.

Another trick that you can do is to take PREMIUM black electrical tape and cover the sticks with it where they come in contact with the netting.  Below, the black tape is just seen covering the stick.  Note: inexpensive black tape will loosen over time and form a goo that gets everywhere.
