Vittorazi Moster 185
As we service more and more of these engines, this page will grow. Servicing, troubleshooting, and repairing this engine is very similar to the Minari.
Electrical and ignition troubleshooting – not for the Moster specifically but more than enough info for nearly every problem
Electric starter specs – 40 to 45 Amps, rarely 50 Amps. When the engine can spin freely it should be around 21 Amps.
General info – what is not in the owners manual can be found here
Owners manual – other than specifications, the owners manual is the place to go first.
Every 50 hours if AVGAS is used (If unleaded fuel is used, this maintenance may be done every 100 hrs)
- Clean out the decompression port (DCP). Failure to clean this will result in greatly increased effort needed to start the engine and will cause premature wear of the starter.
- Remove carbon and/or lead deposits from the top of piston and cylinder head. Use a razor blade for the piston and a Dremel steel wire brush on the cylinder head. Failure to routinely remove deposits will increase compression, combustion temperatures, and will shorten engine life.
